This is sort of a time capsule/snapshot of who I am today...which in no way reflects who I will be tomorrow...but it's fun to work through and share your opinions with friends/non-friends/complete strangers

Episode one: The Assange quandry.
I'm going to change things up a bit. I think I'm just going to pose the questions here and we'll see what happens.
So alright. Julian Assange...villian or hero?
Be civil. Keep it clean. Tell a friend. Link it from your twitter or whatever the kids are doing these days. Either way, all opinions are welcome so long as you try to use some form of logic.
I basically chose this issue because I've noticed a lot of strong feelings on the subject. So here's the thing...obviously hacking and stealing are illegal activities. However, is that much different than the general behavior of American revolutionaries toward the corrupt government they were trying to deal with?
I just find it slightly inconsistent that the party of the NRA, and of the most constant mistrust of our government (unless it has to do with war) would also be the party that happens to grill this man for trying to expose the corruptness that we all know exists.
What was purported to be the most important leak of our time was, well, essentially nothing. There's been no global shake-up, geo-politics haven't been altered in any significant way, and, from most analyses I've read, the US diplomats look competent. Doesn't surprise me given how hard it is to get into the Foreign Service.
You are right... no one cared. I don't think he is a villain or a hero. And I don't think he wants to be either. He seeks truth, and he assumed everyone else would want the truth as well. What was demonstrated is that... most of Americans and the world are more offended by the words traitor and espionage then they are about our government lying to us.
Perhaps the only thing it really did, was disqualify Hillary Clinton from ever running for president. Which is sad (saracsm) I was looking forward to her and Palins power pantsuit parade.
and darn you Ben, I was staying out of Facebook politics!
