Rainy Days

oh Ben Taylor...if only I could change thee.

I wish I had thicker skin. I wish I got over things more quickly. I wish when things weren't right with my friends I could just get over it and move on. On those days all that I want to do is sleep until things get better.

I guess that's just me though. It's probably better to be that way than the alternative. Having rough patches with people that knock me out of commission for a couple days is probably better than not worrying about it and having terrible relationships with people, so it's one of those blessing-curses of people's personality where their strengths and weaknesses are so correlated.

Oh well, the sun always works its way back up over the horizon eventually doesn't it?

subject change!

Government Health Care is not the end of the world. It's probably not the greatest idea we've ever had, but let's be honest...the system we have is a train wreck. It's like having your parents buy you some old beat up VW Rabbit and getting mad when they decide to take it from you and make you drive a Pinto. Granted, the Rabbit might have been slightly better than the Pinto, but let's be serious...compared to a new Camaro or a Challenger, both of those cars are just awful. And if the people didn't want this to happen, then they probably shouldn't have put Democrats into office. You see at least the Democrats are actually being Democrats, as opposed to the Republicans, who spent 8 years spending money like it was their job.

I'm not saying I'm necessarily real happy about all of that. I'm just saying that for people to say that "the government isn't representing the will of the people" is sort of foolish. When a majority of Americans checked next to that D on the ballot in the fall of '08, that spoke volumes about the will of the people. I just think that if you vote for a Democrat it should basically be assumed that you're voting for certain policies? And when they do that, it seems silly to be surprised about it. Just vote them out later this year and again in 2012 and everything will be cool. That is the beauty of democracy. Even if the government blatantly ignores what the country wants, we still have the opportunity to vote in a new group of politicians every few years.

Anyways...Dear figurative Sun, please come soon. I could really use it.

Literal Sun...you can feel free to come on down too!
